Formula1 and Netflix have today announced a joint project that will be recorded throughout the 2018 F1 season. The collaboration will give Netflix exclusive access to the drivers, teams, cockpits and paddocks throughout the season which will result in a 10 episode docu-series to be premiered early 2019.
Sean Bratches, F1 Managing Director of Commercial Operations said: “Formula 1 is a global sport that we are actively repositioning from a motorsport company to a media and entertainment brand. The agreement with Netflix serves to chronicle the fascinating story of what transpires behind the scenes during a grand prix season. This is a perspective of the sport that has yet to be unveiled to fans around the world. This series will unleash a compelling vantage point to the sport that will delight fans and serve as a catalyst to entice new fans.”
I thought they were going to be showing races live for a second 🙁 Still, the documentary sounds interesting!

Kevin Herben no more 2am wake ups?
It’s not the live races. It’s lots of behind the scenes stuff to make a documentary series.
Oh that’s less exciting
Probably won’t watch.
F1 is a little sad these days.
Kinda like rich kids shopping in the most bogan town in a reality TV show. Overly hyped and over produced with no great outcome.
Sorry Netflix. Maybe some local motorsport. Real racing, not this commercialised crud that is corporate entity passed off as legitimate sport.
What a complete useless waste of time and money. Just decent film and tv please Netflix.
Maybe this WILL be decent TV?
