Cue the social media outrage! A few popular TV shows are set to leave Netflix UK over the new year period. Both The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Rick and Morty are scheduled to leave Netflix UK on 31st December with the anime series Cowboy Bebop leaving on 1st January. Netflix made a big scene about The Fresh Prince arriving in it’s entirety back on New Year’s Eve 2016 and, at the time, it was an incredibly popular addition so it’s a bit of a shame to see that go. The pantomime that is Rick and Morty has been ongoing with various expiry dates being posted, series being removed then put back on… No one really knows what is happening with the show as season 3 is branded as a Netflix Original (technically it’s an exclusive, but hey…) however, at present, it is scheduled to leave Netflix UK on New Year’s Eve. The anime series Cowboy Bebop is possibly one of the highest rated anime series ever created and, with Netflix announcing a live-action series is in the works, it seems odd that they won’t keep the rights to stream the original show that started it all.
As usual with all expiry dates (especially Rick and Morty) these are subject to change and, at the end of the day, it is not simply a case of Netflix don’t want to show them anymore but the distributors/studios also have a say in it too. For all upcoming expiry dates keep an eye on https://uk.newonnetflix.info/lastchance.
Matthew Adams FFS.
Darren Truby I’ll believe it when it does actually go, only to return on New Year’s Day. All the more reason to just buy it on dvd I suppose
