Another week has passed and, in case you missed our social media feeds, we’re here to give you the run down on this week’s additions just in time for your weekend binge sessions. Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to Netflix in the UK in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix UK:

As we’ve entered a period of ‘lockdown’ due to Coronavirus Covid-19 you may be wondering what to watch on Netflix – well, wonder no longer! Here at New On Netflix we’ve put together a list of what we (with the help of our social media users) think are the best things that have been added to Netflix UK this week.

Popular films this week include Midnight Run starring Robert De Niro as an ex-cop turned bounty hunter who is offered $100,000 to transport an accountant who embezzled millions from the mob from New York to Los Angeles. Tigertail follows a Taiwanese factory worker who leaves his homeland to seek opportunities in America and Brexit: The Uncivil War stars Benedict Cumberbatch as political strategist Dominic Cummings who lead a popular but controversial campaign to convince British voters to leave the European Union from 2015 up until the present day. Classic film The Breakfast Club is a coming of age story about five high school students who meet in Saturday detention and discover how they have a lot more in common than they thought. In Me and Earl and the Dying Girl high schooler Greg, enjoys making parodies of classic movies with his co-worker Earl, until he finds his outlook altered after befriending a classmate who has just been diagnosed with cancer. Other films of note include American Pie, Contagion and Outbreak – the latter two being rather aptly timed!

For TV this week we have Brews Brothers a Netflix Original comedy about two rival brothers who must work together to keep their brewery in business. Life on Mars follows DCI Sam Tyler, who after being involved in a car accident in 2006, wakes up to find himself in 1973, the era of ‘Sweeney’ type policing, Mk III Cortinas, and flared trousers. Also added was the sequel series Ashes to Ashes where DCI Gene Hunt swaps the Ford Cortina for an Audi Quattro and joins the London Metropolitan Police to deal with the ‘Southern Nancy’ criminal scum. Finally for TV this week we have The Last Post  the story of a British army unit fighting a Yemeni insurgency in the Middle East and the women and children who were there with them. Other TV worth mentioning is the entire series of both Dinnerladies and The Vicar of Dibley.

For documentaries this week we have David Beckham: For the Love of the Game which follows footballer David Beckham as he plays in seven different matches on seven continents in 10 days, a challenge that turns into a journey of revelations. Revolutions: The Ideas That Changed the World is a mind-blowing journey through human history, told through six iconic objects that modern people take for granted. LA Originals shows how Photographer Estevan Oriol and artist Mister Cartoon turned their Chicano roots into gritty art, impacting street culture, hip hop and beyond.

To help keep the kids entertained during quarantine we have The Big Show Show a live action comedy which centres around the lives of the former WWE wrestler The Big Show and his family. The Clangers is an animated revival of the children’s classic show. In Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein Alvin, Simon and Theodore revel in their new gig at a movie theme park by wandering the grounds after hours. Among the attractions is the spooky Frankenstein’s Castle where they meet the famous monster! Finally for kids we the classic animated film The Land Before Time where young brontosaurus named Littlefoot teams up with other orphaned dinosaurs in order to survive. Other notable additions for kids this week include Little Lunch, Little Lunch: The Halloween Horror Story and Little Lunch: The Nightmare Before Graduation which adopt a child’s perspective, and takes a humorous look at what happens during those action-packed 15 minutes of snack time each day.
