Full List of Everything Added to Netflix UK This Week (19th June 2020)

Another week has passed and, in case you missed our social media feeds, we’re here to give you the run down on this week’s additions just in time for your weekend binge sessions. Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to Netflix in the UK in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix UK:

As the Covid-19 ‘lockdown’ begins to ease, many of us may still not be returning to work or going back to school and may be wondering what to watch on Netflix – well, wonder no longer! Here at New On Netflix we’ve put together a list of what we (with the help of our social media users) think are the best things that have been added to Netflix UK this week.

For movie additions this week we’ll start with the supernatural horror film Hereditary where a grieving family uncover the horrific legacy left behind by their family. In a similarly eerie theme we have Cruel Peter where a teen trying to tap into the supernatural to contact her mother ends up summoning the spirit of a cruel bully. 4th Republic is an African political drama where, after the election-night murder of her campaign manager at a polling site, a gubernatorial candidate challenges the corrupt incumbent’s victory. In the action-packed Skyscraper Dwayne Johnson stars as a security consultant in the tallest building in the world. But when terrorists attack he is tested to the limit as he tries to save his family.

There are a few family films added this week including the classic The Karate Kid where young Daniel must learn to love and to fight with training from a mysterious old Karate sensei. In the anime film A Whisker Away we see a young girl turning into a cat in order to be near her crush – however as the lines begin to blur between her human and cat life she must decide what she wants to do. And, finally for films we have Riding Faith which follows a young woman who struggles to help her mother keep the family ranch afloat after her father’s death.

There have been a number of Arabic films added this week too including Saladin, Return of the Prodigal Son, Lost Bullet and An Egyptian Story.

For TV this week on Netflix UK we have the full 11 series of the comedy show Shameless. Set in Manchester, the show follows the unemployed, single father Frank Gallagher (who has eight children) as he tries to stay sane – with a little help from a bottle… or five. The  sci-fi/comedy cartoon series Rick and Morty has made a return this week with the first 5 episodes of Season 4 – the remaining 5 episodes will come to Netflix later in the year. Season 3 of the crime drama The Sinner is also a hot pick this week and sees Detective Ambrose investigating a fatal car accident but, as usual, the details about a hidden crime come to the surface…  The new game-show version of Floor Is Lava sees two teams trying to get across various rooms and obstacles without falling into the (real, honest) lava below. We also the second seasons of the Netflix Originals: The Politician, The Order and Mr. Iglesias.

There are a number of great documentaries added this week. First up we have Disclosure which looks into Hollywood’s impact on the trans community. Roll Red Roll investigates a rape carried out by two school football players in Ohio and the role that social media played in the investigation and subsequent trial. El límite infinito follows a disabled athlete as he improves adaptive sports – starting with his struggle to climb the Himalayas. Musical documentary The Show Must Go On: The Queen + Adam Lambert Story uses interviews and concert footage to tell the story of Queen and how they kept going with Adam Lambert taking over vocal duties.

Part 2 of Netflix Original Babies has arrived this week and continues to follow a number of babies during their first year of life looking at the science and socially involved. We also have two new episodes of the Vox/Netflix series Coronavirus, Explained added this week which look further into the current global pandemic and how it has changed the way we live.

For the younger viewers we have the 4th and final part of Alexa & Katie as well as a new pre-school show Rhyme Time Town. We also have the animated Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation which sees Dracula and his family heading out on a cruise.
