Full List of Everything Added to Netflix UK This Week (20th March 2020)

Another week has passed and, in case you missed our social media feeds, we’re here to give you the run down on this week’s additions just in time for your weekend binge sessions. Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to the streaming service in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix UK:

If you’re one of the many people this week in the UK who are self-isolating due to Coronavirus Covid-19 and are wondering what to watch on Netflix- wonder no longer. Here at New On Netflix we’ve put together a write-up of what we (with the help of our social media users) think are the best things that have been added to Netflix UK this week.

For fans of horror films this week we have the classic comedy / starter horror Beetlejuice which sees the spirits of a deceased couple hire a malicious spirit to drive out an unbearable family that has moved into their home. We have the first instalment of the modern version of Stephen King’s It which sees kids in a small town trying to defeat a clown who is killing off their friends. Netflix Film The Platform is a horror/thriller set in a vertical prison with one cell per level, two people per cell and a food platform that goes from top to bottom. Prisoners take as much or as little as they want so those at the top are eating well whilst those at the bottom get left with the scraps – can one man make a difference big enough that everyone gets fed enough to survive? In The Visit two siblings become increasingly frightened by their grandparents’ disturbing behaviour while visiting them on vacation. Finally for horror films this week we have the extended directors cut of Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare.

If you are not into horror films then fear not! There have also been a number of non-horror additions including Yes Man which is based on the book of the same name by Danny Wallace, and sees a banker fall under the sway of a self-help guru who urges him to say “yes” to everything that comes his way for a year; will he learn that sometimes it is good to say no? In romantic comedy What If Wallace, who is burned out from a string of failed relationships, forms an instant bond with Chantry, who lives with her longtime boyfriend. Together, they puzzle out what it means if your best friend is also the love of your life. In the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz Dorothy Gale is swept away from a farm in Kansas to a magical land of Oz in a tornado and embarks on a quest with her new friends to see the Wizard who can help her return home to Kansas and help her friends as well. Finally for films this week we have Diana which charts the life of the Princess in the two years leading up to her death; as well as Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen.

For binge-worthy TV this week we have the Netflix original The English Game which tells the story of the invention of football and how it quickly rose to become the world’s game by crossing class divides. In Dare Me a cheerleader in her senior year of high school plots revenge against the clique that expelled her. Vampires sees a Parisian teenager who is half human, half vampire grapple with her emerging powers and family turmoil as she’s pursued by a secret vampire community. In the anime Tokyo Ghoul a Tokyo college student is attacked by a ghoul, a super-powered human who feeds on human flesh. He survives, but has become part ghoul and becomes a fugitive on the run. Other notable additions this week include Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker and Caliphate.

For documentaries this week we have A Life of Speed: The Juan Manuel Fangio Story which looks into the career of Juan Manuel Fangio. Fangio was the Formula One king, who won five world championships in the early 1950s — before protective gear or safety features were used. Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness is a true crime documentary about Joe Exotic, an Oklahoma polygamist, country singer, and gun toter who houses a horde of lions, tigers, and bears in his roadside zoo and is accused of planning the killing of a local animal rights activist. We Speak Dance follows trained dancer Vandana Hart as she travels the world to learn traditional and urban dance styles from the local experts who know them best.

For family viewing this week we have Hotel Transylvania 2 which sees Dracula and his friends try to bring out the monster in his half human, half vampire grandson in order to keep Mavis from leaving the hotel. In the live action fantasy series The Letter for the King a young knight in training contends with ancient prophecies, magical powers and fickle companions as he sets out on an epic quest to save his kingdom. In the new preschool animation Buddi the Buddis learn new things and share the joy of friendship. Finally for family we have Shaun the Sheep: Adventures from Mossy Bottom where clever sheep Shaun, loyal dog Bitzer and the rest of the Mossy Bottom gang cook up oodles of fun and mischief on the farm.
