For TV this week we have the Netflix original Gentefied which centres on three cousins who band together to keep their Grandfather’s popular Boyle Heights taco shop in business as the neighbourhood becomes more gentrified. In the 1980’s BBC comedy classic Blackadder Rowan Atkinson stars as Edmund Blackadder, a brilliant rogue who attempts to get rich while serving an assortment of boorish, idiotic monarchs. In the Argentinian crime drama Puerta 7 a determined woman attempts to rid an Argentine football club of the violent crime and corruption surrounding its intense fanbase. In the Brazilian horror series Spectros a group of teens get caught up in a supernatural clash as vengeful spirits from centuries past rise up in the Liberdade district of São Paulo. Finally for TV we have the reality show American Idol which will get new episodes weekly.

The documentaries that have been added this week are Untamed Romania which explores how the legendary creatures of Romania’s vast wilderness roam free yet endure the ever-changing seasons. The docuseries Babies explores the groundbreaking science that reveals how infants discover life during their very first year. Also added this week was volume 3 of The Chef Show where Jon Favreau and chef Roy Choi explore food in and out of the kitchen with accomplished chefs and celebrity friends.

For families this week we have the films The BFG which is based on the Roald Dahl classic of the same name and sees a little orphan meet up with a kind giant who’s supposed to eat her but instead protects her from some truly horrible giants who terrorise them both. In the CGI animation The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature Surly Squirrel brings his animal amigos together in order to save their beloved park from the greedy mayor’s destructive plans. For family TV series this week we have The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia which rated 12 so is for older kids, and follows 15-year-old scientist Ashley Garcia as she explores the great unknown of modern teendom after moving across the country to pursue a career in robotics. In the animated series Glitch Techs two teens work at a game store as a front for their actual job: hunting video game monsters who’ve broken out into the real world. Finally for family this week we have Pup Academy which is from the creators of the Air Bud films and follows three unlikely puppies – and their human friends – as they work together to discover the power of friendship and create everlasting bonds between dogs and humans at the Pup Academy an extraordinary school for the cutest, cuddliest and most curious puppies.
