Another week has passed and, in case you missed our social media feeds, we’re here to give you the run down on this week’s additions just in time for your weekend binge sessions. Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to Netflix in the UK in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix UK:

As the Covid-19 ‘lockdown’ begins to ease, many of us may still not be returning to work or going back to school and may be wondering what to watch on Netflix – well, wonder no longer! Here at New On Netflix we’ve put together a list of what we (with the help of our social media users) think are the best things that have been added to Netflix UK this week.

There have been some great films added this week with the most popular addition being the 2018 drama Leave No Trace. In this independent film a man and his daughter, who live isolated in the woods, are forced back to society by the government where they must learn to adjust to what is deemed a ‘normal’ life – but the father finds it much more difficult than the daughter. The Endless is a supernatural sci-fi thriller that tells the story of two brothers who grew up in a UFO death cult who return as adults to try and work out what was actually happening. In the DC film Justice League, which follows on from the events of Batman Vs. Superman, we see Batman forming a team of superheroes with Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg in order to defeat the villain Steppenwolf. The fourth film in the Purge franchise has been added this week; The First Purge jumps back in time and tells the story of a new political party that carried out an experiment on Staten Island where there were no laws for 12 hours and anything goes – robbery, vandalism and even murder…

Korean film The Villainess is a violent and action-packed romp that sees a trained assassin begin a 10-year service as a sleeper agent for a government’s secret organisation – just so she can go back to a normal life. The Cured is an Irish zombie film where a cure for the zombie plague has been foundbut no one can decide how to bring society back together. In Cellular a man takes a call on his mobile phone and hears a stranger in distress pleading for help as a madman has abducted their family. And, for something a bit more relaxing, we have the British drama Edie – where, after the passing of her overbearing husband, a tenacious octogenarian sets out to fulfil her long-harboured ambition to scale a Scottish mountain.

The most popular addition in TV this week is the new TNT and Netflix co-production Snowpiercer. This sci-fi crime series is set on a futuristic train that travels the globe to keep the last inhabitants of the earth alive. There are huge issues with class and segregation but when a murder takes place the train’s leaders need to get the help from a detective in the run-down tail end. The first two episodes are available now with a new episode added every Monday. All 6 seasons of comedy/crime show Republic of Doyle have returned to Netflix and sees a father-son duo working together to solve an odd array of crimes. Irish comedy/drama show Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope has also returned alongside season 3 of Netflix Original Dynasty. Space Force is a new Netflix comedy series from the creators of the Office and sees a four-star general begrudgingly team up with an eccentric scientist to get the U.S. military’s newest agency up and running. The latest season of America’s Got Talent has also arrived and will get a new episode every Friday.

If you enjoy documentaries then there is a good selection this week including the limited series Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich which allows survivors to tell their stories and examines how Epstein was able to use his power and money to abuse so many. Sinatra: All or Nothing at All looks into Frank Sinatra’s life and talent with stories and interviews from friends, family and colleagues. And, finally, we have the hard-hitting I, Dolours where former IRA member Dolours Price reflects on her upbringing in Belfast, her actions during the Troubles and her disillusionment.
