Full List of Everything Added to Netflix UK This Week (4th September 2020)

Another week has passed and, in case you missed our social media feeds, we’re here to give you the run down on this week’s additions just in time for your weekend binge sessions. Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to Netflix in the UK in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix UK:

Well we’ve had the first of the month this week and with that came 52 new films added to Netflix UK including the science fiction thriller Darkman a brilliant scientist who was left for dead returns to exact revenge on the people who burned him alive. In Demolition Man a police officer is brought out of suspended animation in prison to pursue an old ultra-violent nemesis who is loose in a non-violent future society. In Zodiac a political cartoonist, a crime reporter and a pair of cops investigate San Francisco’s infamous Zodiac Killer in this thriller based on a true story. Room sees a woman and her young son who have been held captive for 7 years in an enclosed space, finally gain their freedom, allowing the boy to experience the outside world for the first time. In the cyberpunk fantasy 9 rag-doll robots hide in fear from dangerous machines out to exterminate them, until a brave newcomer joins the group. In the adaptation of the DC comic Watchmen a band of superheroes who are prohibited from using their powers in a parallel Earth unite to defend themselves when one of their own is murdered. In the comedy Zoolander a clueless fashion model is brainwashed to kill the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Streaming again this week we have Deadpool which sees a wisecracking mercenary get experimented on and become immortal but ugly, so he sets out to track down the man who ruined his looks.

Other great film additions this week include Chasing Liberty, Curse of Chucky, Freddy vs. Jason

For TV series this week we have the British sitcom Black Books where Bernard Black runs a book shop, though his customer service skills leave something to be desired. He hires Manny as an employee. Fran runs the shop next door. Between the three of them many adventures ensue. In the political drama Borgen a shocking turn of events puts Birgitte Nyborg in the Danish prime minister’s seat as her country’s first female leader. In the anime Space Dandy alien-hunter Dandy combs the galaxy in search of unregistered life forms with help from space cat Meow and faithful robot QT. In the middle eastern drama The Platform a programming genius builds a fact-finding, truth-seeking internet portal while reckoning with trouble at home. In Young Wallander an incendiary hate crime stirs civil unrest, fast-tracking rookie cop Kurt Wallander to detective in this origin story for the popular character.

For reality TV fans we have Come Dine with Me where a group of amateur chefs each hosts a dinner party and rates each other’s meals for the chance to win a cash prize. Couples Come Dine with Me sees couples go dish-to-dish against each other as they all host and critique a series of dinner parties. Also added were seasons 3 and 4 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

If you’re a fan of documentaries then there are Sky Tour: The Movie which showcases Vietnamese pop idol Sơn Tùng M-TP and the passion behind his Sky Tour concerts. Chef’s Table: BBQ delves into the juicy, smoky world of barbecue, visiting acclaimed chefs and pitmasters in the US, Australia and Mexico. They’ve Gotta Have Us is powered by candid recollections from esteemed African-American entertainers, and traces the history of Black cinema. In The Witcher: A Look Inside the Episodes series creator Lauren S. Hissrich takes you on an in-depth journey into the stories and themes powering the first season of “The Witcher.”

For younger viewers and families we have the films The Boss Baby: Get That Baby! is an interactive special that puts your skills to the test and matches you up with one of 16 jobs at Baby Corp. Dudley Do-Right is based on the 60’s-era cartoon of the same name, and sees Royal Canadian Mountie Dudley Do-right trying to keep the peace in his small mountain town when his old rival, Snidely Whiplash, comes up with a plot to buy all the property in town. The Spiderwick Chronicles is a magical fantasy which tells the story of twin brothers Jared and Simon Grace, along with their sister Mallory, who find themselves pulled into an alternate world full of faeries and other creatures. In the Dreamworks animation The Prince of Egypt Egyptian Prince Moses learns of his identity as a Hebrew and his destiny to become the chosen deliverer of his people. Also added this week were the family comedies Johnny English and Johnny English Reborn which centre around the adventures of hapless secret agent Johnny English. Finally for family films this week we have both the original and modern versions of the Roald Dahl classic Charlie and The Chocolate Factory: Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

For family TV viewing we have the anime Beyblade Burst Turbo where Valt Aoi is yearning to earn the title of world blading champion, and must harness his untamed potential through training and tournaments. Bookmarks sees celebrity readers share children’s books by Black authors to spark kid-friendly conversations about empathy, equality, self-love and antiracism. Emily’s Lab is presented by science-loving host Emily Calandrelli who makes STEM fun with activities, demonstrations and at-home experiments that’ll make you think — and blow your mind! Heidi is the story of a plucky young orphan who is sent to live with her grandfather in the mountains, and discovers wonder and adventure around every corner. Mr. Bean: The Animated Series shows the adventures of a clueless yet clever loner who bungles his way through life in London. Finally for family TV we have season 6 of Horrible Histories, and part two of Spirit Riding Free: Riding Academy.
