Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to the streaming service in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix USA:
For film fans this week we have the Netflix original Project Power where an ex-soldier, a teen and a cop collide in New Orleans as they hunt for the source behind a dangerous new pill that grants users temporary superpowers. In the French film An Easy Girl a teen girl is drawn to her cousin’s hedonistic lifestyle when they spend the summer together in Cannes as she learns about herself and her own values. A popular addition in films is The Lost Husband a romantic drama where a widow retreats with her children to her aunt’s goat farm, where the ranch’s manager helps her navigate country life and loss. Hindi drama Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl which sees Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena make history in her journey from aspiring aviator to India’s first female combat pilot in the Kargil War. Christine is a film based on true events,where an awkward but ambitious TV reporter struggles to adapt when she’s ordered to focus on violent and salacious stories. Finally for films this week we have Freak Show which follows the story of teenager Billy Bloom who, despite attending an ultra conservative high school, makes the decision to run for homecoming queen.
For TV series this week we have Nigerian series The Governor which is the riveting tale of Angela Ochello, the Deputy Governor of Savannah State, who with no governorship ambitions finds herself suddenly entangled in a web of political intrigue after the untimely death of the incumbent Governor. The latin american series The Great Heist is based on rue events from 1994 when a team of thieves planned an ambitious heist with the aim of stealing millions from Colombia’s Bank of the Republic. Teenage Bounty Hunters sees twin sisters Sterling and Blair balance teen life at an elite Southern high school with an unlikely new career as butt-kicking bounty hunters. Finally for TV we have (Un)Well which takes takes a deep dive into the lucrative wellness industry, which touts health and healing. But do the products live up to the promises?
If you’re a fan of documentaries then we have Beyond the Boundary: ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Australia 2020 which offers an inside look at the global showcase for women’s cricket — the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. And RIDE ON TIME takes a deep dive into the beautiful world of Japan’s top male idol groups.
For younger viewers and families we have the films Fearless which sees a teen gamer forced to level up to full-time babysitter when his favourite video game drops three superpowered infants from space into his backyard. Mr. Peabody & Sherman follows the time-travelling adventures of an advanced canine and his adopted son, as they endeavor to fix a time rift they created. Finally for family films we have Octonauts & the Caves of Sac Actun which sees the Octonauts embark on an underwater adventure, navigating a set of challenging caves to help a small octopus friend return home to the Caribbean Sea.
For family TV viewing we have GAME ON: A Comedy Crossover Event which sees worlds collide in this special event featuring familiar faces, surprise cameos and stories of spirited competition from four different comedy series. In Kongsuni and Friends a bright-eyed girl and her magical owl sidekick find adventure when enchanting powers and creative ideas lead to important lessons. In The Legend of Korra a female avatar who can control the elements fights to keep her city safe from the evil forces of both the physical and spiritual worlds. Finally for family TV we have Zoids Wild where a quest for freedom and legendary treasure begins when a cheerful young adventurer follows his father’s footsteps to become the greatest Zoids hunter.
