Indie French Horror “The Swarm” is Coming to Netflix in August

Look away if you’re squeamish because a swarm of blood-thirsty locusts are heading this way! “The Swarm”, which arrives on August 6th, is an independent French horror film that follows Virginie who lives on a farm with her children Laura (15) and Gaston (7) and raises locusts as a high-protein crop. But life is hard: money worries and practical problems are piling up, tensions with her kids and neighbors are running high. But everything changes when she discovers the locusts have a taste for blood…

But before you get your hopes up for an attack of the killer locusts B-movie, the film is actually more character driven than an all-out horror. The build up is, by all accounts, slow and steady but with a horrific outcome.
