After a successful move from YouTube Premium to Netflix in August Sony Pictures Television’s “Cobra Kai” has hit home with many new fans. Netflix has now announced that season 3 of The Karate Kid sequel series will arrive on January 8th 2021 and that it has also been renewed for a 4th season. The show is set 30 years after the original movie and original cast members Ralph Macchio and William Zabka reprise their roles as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence respectively. The series has had great reviews as well as an Emmy nomination.
You can see the date announcement below as well as the trailer for season 1.
Cobra Kai takes place 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, where a now successful Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) struggles to maintain balance in his life without the guidance of Mr. Miyagi, and must face his previous adversary, down-and-out Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), who seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo.
