Jonny Lee Miller to Join Cast of “The Crown” as John Major

Netflix has announced a new cast member for Season 5 of “The Crown”. Every two seasons the main cast changes to show the Royal Family as they age and this will be the same for the final two seasons of the show. We already know that Imelda Staunton (“A Confession”, “Psychoville”) will play The Queen alongsideĀ Elizabeth Debicki (“The Great Gatsby”, “Widows”) as Princess Diana, and Jonathan Pryce (“The Two Popes”, “Tomorrow Never Dies”) as Prince Philip.

The new cast member is Jonny Lee Miller (“Trainspotting”, “Elementary”) who will play Prime Minister John Major. Miller rose to fame as Sick Boy in the anarchic 90s classic “Trainspotting”. John Major succeeded Margaret Thatcher (played by GIllian Anderson in the series) and was Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1990 to 1997.

Expect more cast announcements in the coming months!
