It’s been nearly three years since it was announced but we finally have some news about Netflix’s live-action “Avatar: The Last Airbender” series. Four cast members have been announced for the show which is a reimagining of the animated Nickelodeon series that ran from 2003 to 2008.
Today’s cast announcement is made up of:
- Gordon Cormier (“The Stand”) as Aang – the last Airbender
- Kiawentio (“Beans”) as Katara
- Ian Ousley (“Physical”) as Sokka
- Dallas Liu (“Tekken”) as Prince Zuko
The series is set in a world divided into four nations with different kinds of elemental “benders”: Earthbenders, Waterbenders, Firebenders and Airbenders. The show followed the last of the Airbenders, Aang, who becomes the Avatar- a special bender who has mastered all four elements.
