Netflix has announced that they will be streaming Legendary Pictures’ new continuation of Tobe Hooper’s 1974 classic “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre” set in the modern day. The film is directed by David Blue Garcia with Fede Alvarez as producer. Little is known of the film other than that Netflix’s deal with Legendary Pictures will see the film disregard all other films and will stream directly on Netflix without a cinematic release. Key cast members include: Elsie Fisher, Sarah Yarkin, Jacob Latimore, and Moe Dunford. The film was shot in Bulgaria last year and is expected to release later in 2021.
The original film from 1974 became a horror classic and tells the story of a cannibalistic family which including ‘Leatherface’ – a huge man with a deformed face that he covers with a mask made from the skin of his victims.
Leatherface is back.
