Lots of BBC Content is Set to Leave Netflix UK Later This Month

It’s a sad fact but things leave Netflix on a fairly regular basis in order to make way for new content. However, every now and then large chunks of specific content gets removed – and this time it looks like the BBC are having a purge in the UK. On March 30th there are 37 BBC shows that are scheduled for removal – possibly to head over to the streaming service BritBox.

BBC shows usually get renewed around this time of year so they may not all be leaving after all – however, if they do then you have been warned! We usually find that nearer the expiry date a number of shows will get renewed but there will still be a small number that still get removed. It is also common for alternative BBC shows to be added to replace the lost content. But with BritBox now in the mix we won’t know for certain until nearer the time.

Shows leaving include comedies like “Fawlty Towers”, “The Thick of It” and “Absolutely Fabulous”, natural history shows “Life” and “Wild Alaska” as well as children’s favourites “Horrible Histories” and “Hey Duggee”.

  1. I’m actually getting pretty close to ditching my monthly Netflix and just going down the binge route when they have shows on that I want to watch… The Originals are getting to be very teen oriented and a bit shit

  2. The BBC should never have been allowed to set up BritBox! The licence pays for the BBC so all BBC content should be available free! The BBC are an out of date monster that needs scrapping!

  3. Love the old classic shows, shame there leaving Netflix, tempted to get britbox and Disney plus and ditch Netflix as the originals are nothing to get excited about more and more foreign films and series.
