Back in December 2015, Netflix released the controversial documentary “Making A Murderer”, which looked into the conviction of Steven Avery of the first-degree murder of Teresa Halbach. Whilst being well received by Netflix viewers the series was also accused of being biased towards Steven Avery’s innocence.
The original filmmakers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos are working on Making a Murderer Season 2 but an unofficial ‘sequel’ has been made by filmmaker Shawn Rech titled “Convicting a Murderer”. Rech has said that “Convicting A Murderer” will focus on the Steven Avery case from the perspective of both the law enforcement officers and district attorney Ken Kratz, and will also share with viewers the traumatic effects of being found guilty and vilified in the court of public opinion.
We are unsure at this time whether or not the rival “Convicting A Murderer” series will air on Netflix or not – although we suspect it’s unlikely – but if you were one of the thousands of people who were enthralled by “Making A Murderer” we’re sure you’ll be wanting to keep your eyes open for the release of “Convicting A Murderer”, wherever it appears.
