With the recent cancellations of Marvel’s Daredevil, Iron Fist and Luke Cage from Netflix fans were wondering if this could see a move to the upcoming Disney+ streaming service. Well, if it does then it won’t be for at least another 2 years according to Variety who say their sources have stated that the deals included “a clause that prevents the characters from appearing in any non-Netflix series or film for at least two years after cancellation”. So the earliest Daredevil, Iron Fist or Luke Cage could appear on Disney+, or any other non-Netflix service, would be 2020. If Jessica Jones also gets cancelled then we’d be looking at 2021 at the earliest as season 3 is due for release in 2019.
The Punisher deal was made at a different time and it is unknown as of yet whether the same 2-year clause was part of that deal. Season 2 of The Punisher is due out in January 2019.
Disney can do what they like, how many subscription services do they think people can or will subscribe to?
Kevin Doe content will decide that
People will have to make a choice in what they want to see, if new Daredevil shows get put on Disney I’ll be subscribing
Guess it depends what you get use out of. I cancelled Prime as there just wasn’t the time to use that, Netflix, Cinema Paradiso and everything else.
Kevin Doe i order a lot off Amazon so I get my money’s worth out of Prime
Only a month’s commitment at a time. I switch regularly. For my personal viewing habits, there’s no way I’d get value out of several subscriptions all running at the same time.
Last episode of Jessica Jones – every Marvel Netflix character turns up for a party. Heroes and sidekicks at Foggy’s parents’ party, villains and henchpeople at another given by Kingpin.
