MGMs new comedy film “Bad Trip” was scheduled for its premier at the SXSW film festival this year with a full theatrical release to follow but the worldwide pandemic meant that hasn’t happened. What did happen, however, was that the film was somehow leaked and a pirated version ended up on Amazon Prime Video… Oopses. Netflix has now bought the film to release themselves but while we don’t have a date, we suspect it will be sooner rather than later due to there already being copies of it available.
The film stars Eric Andre (“The Eric Andre Show”, “Disenchantment”), Lil Rel Howery (“Get Out”, “Bird Box”) and Tiffany Haddish (“Tuca & Bertie”, “Girls Trip”) and is a slapstick comedy, which is described as “a cross between a scripted buddy movie and a hidden-camera prank show”. The story finds Andre and Howery pulling real pranks during a cross-country road trip to New York City.
Expect a trailer and release date soon.
