Netflix Acquire Rights to Bravo’s “Dirty John” True Crime Series

Netflix have acquired the worldwide distribution rights to the upcoming Bravo series “Dirty John”. The show, already green-lit for two seasons, has begun production on it’s first season and is based on the articles and breakout true crime podcast of the same name from Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard.

The first season of “Dirty John” follows Debra Newell’s (Connie Britton) romance with John Meehan (Eric Bana), a handsome and romantic charmer who sweeps Debra off her feet and pulls her into his web of lies. The second season will follow a different, self-contained story.

The series will premiere on Bravo in the USA and on Netflix everywhere else around the globe. There is no information yet as to whether this will be weekly additions or posting the whole season in one go.
