Nickelodeon have some great characters. Netflix has a great streaming platform. It was only a matter of time until the two joined forces for an unstoppable, animated assault on the world of streaming media! Netflix has just announced that they have formed a multi-year deal with Nickelodeon to bring a whole host of Original animated TC shows and animated films to the streaming giant. Earlier this year they worked together to release “Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling” and “Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus” and the two are also working on the “Loud House” and “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” animated films.
The new deal will make use of both the existing Nickelodeon library of characters as well as all-new IP. Vice president of original animation at Netflix, Melissa Cobb, said “Nickelodeon has generated scores of characters that kids love, and we look forward to telling wholly original stories that re-imagine and expand on the worlds they inhabit”. We’ll keep you updated with any news but for now here’s the trailer for “Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling” which is available to watch right now on Netflix.
