Netflix Announces “Grand Army” Based on Katie Cappiello’s Play “Slut”

Netflix has announced that they will create a new series “Grand Army” based on Katie Cappiello’s play “Slut”. The story is about public high school students in Brooklyn, New York who wrestle with sexual, racial and economic politics and will star Odessa A’zion, Maliq Johnson, Amalia Yoo, Amir Bageria, and Odley Jean. Katie Cappiello will executive-produce the 10-episode series that will launch in 2020.

Synopsis: 16-year-old Joanna (Joey) Del Marco who is assaulted by three friends during a night out in New York City and highlights the damaging impact of rape culture on the lives of young women.
