Netflix are Testing a New Gaming System for Kids – Start Them Bingeing Early!

Netflix are testing the gamification of their service for kids by allowing users to collect ‘patches’ for watching episodes of their shows. A Netflix spokesperson told Variety that:

“We are testing a new feature on select kids titles that introduces collectible items for a more interactive experience, adding an element of fun and providing kids something to talk about and share around the titles they love. We learn by testing and this feature may or may not become part of the Netflix experience.”

You can see an example below from Twitter user @joswilson who seemed baffled (along with most of social media) what the patches were for. It will be interesting to see if this rolls out as a public feature rather than just a select few tests. Let us know in the comments if you’re one of those seeing this new potential feature of Netflix.
