Netflix Are Working on a New Season of “Black Mirror”!

It has been nearly three years since the release of “Black Mirror” season 5 and we have now learnt that season 6 is currently in the works at Netflix! The show, created by Charlie Brooker, took Channel 4 by storm back in 2011 and has since grown a massive, worldwide audience that loves the dark, sci-fi anthology series. After two seasons and a Christmas Special on it’s original British home, Netflix bought the rights to the show in 2015 and have released three additional seasons as well as the interactive “Bandersnatch” film. We don’t have any dates for the new season but according to Variety casting is currently underway.

The three standalone episodes of season 5 featured a more star-studded cast than previous releases including the singer Miley Cyrus, Anthony Mackie (“Avengers” Endgame”), Pom Klementieff (“Avengers” Endgame”), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (“Aquaman”), Topher Grace (“That 70’s Show”), Damson Idris (“Snowfall”), Andrew Scott (“Pride”), Nicole Beharie (“Sleepy Hollow”), Angourie Rice (“The Nice Guys”), Madison Davenport (“Noah”) and Ludi Lin (“Power Rangers”).

It is expected that production values will be increasing with each episode being treated as a film in its own right and not just a TV episode.

Brooker and co. haven’t been resting on their laurel’s since season 5, however, as they have created two end of year specials for Netflix with “Death to 2020” and “Death to 2021” as well as being involved in an adult-themed interactive trivia animation “Cat Burglar”. We will keep you updated once we have further information!
