Netflix Cancels “Mystery Science Theater 3000” Reboot

“Mystery Science Theater 3000” has had a rough life since its inception in 1988 and things have taken a turn for the worst again: Netflix has decided not to renew the show. The series, which adds comedy narratives to old B-Movies, has been going since 1988 and returned to the small screen in 2017 and then in 2018 as a Netflix Original show. The show ran on Comedy Central from 1988 to 1996 before moving to SciFi from 1997 to 1999. After 2 seasons on Netflix it is highly likely that the team will be shopping it around elsewhere like that have done in the past.

Star of the Netflix reboot Jonah Ray Rodriguez tweeted: “So, Netflix decided to not do another season of MST3K. We are off to Get Down in Lilyhammer while the OA helps us take it One Day At A Time. We will be in group therapy with Tuca & Bertie, Jessica Jones, & Lady Dynamite. The sessions will be run by Gypsy (w/ Naomi Watts.)”

He also followed up with “We don’t know what the future holds for the show, it always seemed to figure out how to survive. From Comedy Central to SyFy. Then kept alive by RIFFTRAX & Cinematic Titanic. whatever happens, I want everybody to know that getting a chance to be on this show was a dream come true”
