Netflix has cancelled their British-American supernatural crime series “The Irregulars” after just one season. The series follows a group of teens with who get manipulated by Doctor Watson into solving dark and gruesome crimes. The series launched on March 26th and hit the Top 10 in many countries. It even beat Disney’s “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” in Nielsen’s weekly U.S. streaming charts at the end of April, but it quickly dropped from the Top 10 shortly after.
While many people enjoy having whole seasons drop in one go, it has to be said that this clearly affects the promotion of Netflix Originals. Especially when you compare it to the weekly release schedule of Disney+ and regular terrestrial TV shows. I’m going to take a wild guess that you heard more about “WandaVision” and “Line of Duty” than you did “The Irregulars”…

Set in Victorian London, the series follows a gang of troubled street teens who are manipulated into solving crimes for the sinister Doctor Watson and his mysterious business partner, the elusive Sherlock Holmes. As the crimes take on a horrifying supernatural edge and a dark power emerges, it’ll be up to the Irregulars to come together to save not only London but the entire world.
