Netflix Drops Trailer for “The Harder They Fall” New Western Starring Jonathan Majors, Idris Elba and More

Idris Elba is returning to Netflix in a new film from singer-songwriter, producer and director Jeymes Samuel, a.k.a. The Bullitts. “The Harder They Fall” is produced by JAY-Z, James Lassiter, Lawrence Bender and Jeymes Samuel and, according to Netflix, “this ain’t your grandaddy’s Western!”

The ‘new-school’ western stars Jonathan Majors, Idris Elba, Zazie Beetz, Regina King, LaKeith Stanfield, Delroy Lindo, Edi Gathegi, R.J. Cyler, Danielle Deadwyler and Deon Cole and will have a limited theatrical run in October before coming to Netflix on November 3rd.

Outlaw Nat Love (Majors) discovers that his enemy, Rufus Buck (Elba), is being released from prison, so he reunites his gang to track Rufus down and seek revenge. Those riding with him in this assured, righteously new school Western include his former love Stagecoach Mary (Zazie Beetz), his right and left hand men — hot-tempered Bill Pickett (Edi Gathegi) and fast drawing Jim Beckwourth (R.J. Cyler)—and a surprising adversary-turned-ally. Rufus Buck has his own fearsome crew, including “Treacherous” Trudy Smith (Regina King) and Cherokee Bill (LaKeith Stanfield), and they are not a group that knows how to lose.
