Netflix Has Stopped Offering the 30-Day Free Trial for New Customers in The UK

Netflix has removed one of it’s long time offers, a 30-day free trial, for new subscribers in the UK. Where previously during sign up you would be told “You won’t be charged until after your free month” and “We’ll remind you three days before your trial ends” new users are now told there are “No commitments, cancel at any time” and “Everything on Netflix for one low price”. There is no longer any mention of the free trial on the Netflix UK website.

Netflix have said that “customers who have already started free trials would be able to continue them” and added that “no UK customers would be offered free trials in the future”. They have also said that they will “be testing other marketing promotions” but have not given any further details. We suspect, however, that this could mean monthly discounts for customers who stay with the service for a few months. It will be interesting to see how this turns out and if it gets rolled out across other countries.
