Netflix May be Working on a Jimmy Savile Documentary

Netflix are reported to be working on a documentary about Jimmy Savile, the notorious British paedophile famous for his work with children and charities. While this has not been confirmed by Netflix it is certainly the kind of high profile case that the streaming giant is likely to take on. According to a source for The Sun “It will consider some of his friendships with famous faces and the Royal Family, and how he got away with so much despite being in the public eye for so long.”

Savile died in 2011 and was, shortly after, exposed as one of the UK’s most prolific sex offenders. Famed TV reporter Louis Theroux had also spent some time with Savile for a documentary episode in 2000 and created a follow up episode after his death. The special episode is available on Netflix in the UK: Louis Theroux: Savile.

  1. It would be great if they could get something from the BBC as to why they cancelled a panorama special calling JS out as a pedo. Or even how they knew this “open secret” but still let him be near kids.
