Netflix have announced their acquisition of “Sweet Girl”. Whilst we don’t currently have many details regarding the film we do know that it has been written by Gregg Hurwitz and Philip Eisner, and will be directed by Brian Andrew Mendoza. Sweet Girl will also star and be produced by Jason Momoa.
Momoa will be assisted in his producing by fellow producers Brad Peyton and Jeff Fierson of ASAP Entertainment. Peyton and Fierson have a successful track record with Momoa having previously produced Frontier for Netflix which also Momoa starred in and Executive Produced.
Jason Momoa is quoted as saying:
I’m excited to partner with Netflix once again. I’m putting a dream team together from Brad and Jeff to my best friend, Brian who has been my partner for over ten years. It’s a dream come true to collaborate with him and deliver his vision.
So far all we know about “Sweet Girl” is that it is the story of a devastated husband who vows to bring justice to the people responsible for his wife’s death while protecting the only family he has left, his daughter.
