Netflix has ordered a new comedy series from Ryan O’Connell and Jim Parsons based on O’Connell’s part-memoir, part-manifesto “I’m Special: And Other Lies We Tell Ourselves”. The 8-episode series has the slightly shorter title of “Special” and tells the heartwarming story of a gay man with mild cerebral palsy who decides to rewrite his identity and finally go after the life he wants. Parsons will executive produce and the series also stars: Jessica Hecht, Punam Patel, Marla Mindelle, Augustus Prew, and Patrick Fabian. “Special” will arrive on April 12th.
