In 2004 a TV documentary series “The Staircase” looked into the trial of author Michael Peterson was arraigned for the murder of his wife Kathleen, whose body was discovered lying in a pool of blood on the stairway of their home. The 8 episode series had various twists and turns as well as an unusual amount of access to those in the courtroom. In 2013 a further 2 episodes were aired based on events that occurred with the case in 2011. Now in 2018 Netflix are releasing 3 brand new episodes alongside the original 10 to expand the story.
