Netflix Pulls Plug on “Wings of Fire” and “Antiracist Baby” Animated Series

In April 2021 Netflix announced that they were creating a new animated series based on the popular series of books by Tui T. Sutherland, “Wings of Fire”. However, we have heard today that the series will not be moving forward due to ‘creative reasons’. The show was to be produced by Ava DuVernay and was described as ‘a big epic fantasy with a sense of humor and kindhearted heroes’ and tells the story from the dragon’s point of view.

Also cancelled are the preschool series “Antiracist Baby”; and an animated film “With Kind Regards From Kindergarten” which was aimed at younger viewers.

According to Variety, Netflix have stressed that the cancellations are not cost related.
