Netflix Purchase Right to Chinese Animation “Next Gen” for a Whopping $30 million

Netflix have spent a massive $30 million for the global rights to a CG-animated movie about robots called “Next Gen”. Little, if anything, is known about the movie other than it is based on the Chinese online-comic “7723” and will feature robots. However, there was allegedly a furious bidding war for the movie so there must be something special – only time will tell.

The English audio will include the voices of Charlyne Yi, Jason Sudeikis, David Cross, Michael Pena, and Constance Wu and the deal is for global distribution via Netflix (excluding China where Netflix doesn’t operate).
