Idris Elba (“Luther”) and Caleb McLaughlin (“Stranger Things”) star in a new drama for Netflix called “Concrete Cowboys”. The film is inspired by the real-life Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club based in North Philadelphia and follows 15-year-old Cole (McLaughlin) who is taken to live with his estranged father Harp (Elba). While there, he discovers the city’s urban cowboy subculture, which provides a safe haven for the neighbourhood – a neighbourhood surrounded by poverty, violence, and the encroachment of gentrification. The film is written and directed by Ricky Staub in his first feature length roles and arrives on April 2nd.
