Netflix Releases Trailer for Family Comedy Series “The Upshaws” from Wanda Sykes and Mike Epps

Netflix has released the trailer for their next upcoming multi-camera sitcom series “The Upshaws” which arrives on May 12th. The show stars Wanda Sykes (“Wanda Sykes: Not Normal”) and Mike Epps (“Dolemite is My Name”, “Only One Mike”) as part of a working-class African American family in Indiana struggling to make it work and make it right without the blueprints to do it.

Bennie Upshaw (Mike Epps), the head of a Black working class family in Indianapolis, is a charming, well-intentioned mechanic and lifelong mess just trying his best to step up and care for his family — wife Regina (Kim Fields), their two young daughters (Khali Daniya-Renee Spraggins, Journey Christine) and firstborn son (Jermelle Simon), the teenage son (Diamond Lyons) he fathered with another woman (Gabrielle Dennis) — and tolerate his sardonic sister-in-law (Wanda Sykes), all without a blueprint for success. But the Upshaws are determined to make it work, and make it to the next level, together.

The series is co-created by Regina Hicks and Wanda Sykes, who serve as executive producers alongside Mike Epps, Page Hurwitz and Niles Kirchner.

“The Upshaws” is rated 12 in the UK for language, crude humour and alcohol misuse
