Netflix Sets Date for 3-Part Kanye West Documentary Event Series – Starting February 16th

A three-part documentary series spanning the career of Kanye West is heading to Netflix in February. Act 1 “jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy” will premiere on Netflix on February 16th after a limited theatrical run from the 10th. Acts 2 and 3 will be released weekly thereafter. The landmark documentary is described as ‘an intimate and revealing portrait of Kanye West’s experience’ and will showcase both his formative days trying to break through and his life today as a global brand and artist. The film powerfully weaves together decades of never-before-seen footage of the legendary artist to delve into the challenges and triumphs of West’s career in music and fashion.

The series is directed by filmmakers Coodie Simmons and Chick Ozah, who have followed Kanye’s career and musical impact throughout the years. You can see a teaser for the series below and expect a full trailer soon.

The clip below shows a young West rapping his “The College Dropout” track “Two Words” alongside Mos Def back in 2002.
