Netflix Teases “Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga” – Coming in June

The Eurovision Song Contest may have been cancelled for 2020 but that doesn’t mean we can’t still have some cheesy pop fun. Netflix has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming Will Ferrell film “Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga” which arrives on June 26th. The trailer, in fact, is actually just the song “Volcano Man” from the upcoming film but the tongue-in-cheek style should give you an idea of what to expect. The film stars Will Ferrell, Rachel McAdams and Pierce Brosnan as well as Dan Stevens and Demi Lovato.

The film follows two aspiring musicians Lars and Sigrit who are given the opportunity of a lifetime to represent their country at the world’s biggest song competition, they finally have a chance to prove that any dream worth having is a dream worth fighting for. David Dobkin (“Wedding Crashers”, “The Judge”) directed the film.

Ferrell and McAdams will play aspiring Icelandic musicians Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir while Brosnan will star as Erick Erickssong, Lars’ father and the most handsome man in Iceland. Stevens (“The Guest”, “Downton Abbey”) will star as Alexander Lemtov, a Russian contestant in the Eurovision song contest and Lovato (“Camp Rock”, “Smurfs: The Lost Village”) will star as Katiana, one of the best and most angelic singers in all of Iceland.

Expect a full trailer in the coming weeks. And, for our American readers, the 2019 competition leaves Netflix in a couple of days!
