Netflix has released the trailer for their upcoming genre-blending psychological thriller “In the Shadow of the Moon”, which arrives on September 27th. The film is the first of five horror films coming to the service each week in the lead up to Halloween. Set in 1988, the film follows Philadelphia police officer Thomas Lockhart (Boyd Holbrook) who is desperate to become a detective. He begins tracking a serial killer who mysteriously resurfaces every nine years but when the killer’s crimes begin to defy all scientific explanation, Locke’s obsession with finding the truth threatens to destroy his career, his family, and possibly his sanity.
Directed by Jim Mickle, the film stars Boyd Holbrook (“Logan”, “Narcos”), Emmy nominee and Golden Globe/SAG winner Michael C. Hall (“Safe”, “Cold In July”), Cleopatra Coleman (“The Last Man on Earth”, “White Famous”), Emmy Award nominee Bokeem Woodbine (“Fargo (TV)”, “Spider-Man: Homecoming”).
