Back in May we announced that “Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling” and “INVADER ZIM: Enter The Florpus” had been sold to Netflix but no release dates were known. We have now had word that “Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling” will launch on Netflix on August 9th – thanks to a tweet from voice artist Charlie Adler.

“Rocko’s Modern Life” originally aired on Nickelodeon from 1993 to 1996 and follows an Australian wallaby called Rocko and his two best friends, Heffer and Filburt, throughout various adventures in O-Town. The movie, “Static Cling”, sees the characters return from outer space where they have been since 1996 and struggle to adapt to the new modern life of technology, social media and an endless array of food trucks.
“Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling” brings the beloved characters back to Earth after being lost in outer space since 1996. Rocko has trouble accepting this 21st century modern life, while Heffer and Filburt embrace every aspect of new technology, social media and the endless diversity of food trucks. Rocko wholeheartedly believes that his nostalgia for the past can save him from the tortures of the modern world.
