Wil Traval, one of the stars of Netflix’s recent series “Messiah”, has confirmed on Instagram that there will not be a second series of the show. In a statement on INstagram (see below) he said “It’s a very sad day today. I have just received news from Netflix that there will be no season 2 of Messiah I wanted to say to all the fans thank you for your support and love. I wish things were different.”
The series premiered on New Year’s Day this year and is a provocative, geo-political thriller about a CIA officer’s quest to uncover the truth about a mysterious man (Mehdi Dehbi) who begins to cultivate followers who allege he’s performing miracles. The show aimed to get viewers asking questions like what would happen if someone arrived in modern times claiming to be The Messiah? How would the media portray them? What would society do? All ten 1-hour episodes are available globally on Netflix.
