Nobel Prize Winning Book “One Hundred Years of Solitude” to Be Developed into Netflix Original Series

Gabriel García Márquez’s literary masterwork “One Hundred Years of Solitude” is coming to Netflix as a Spanish language Original Series. The book was first released in 1967 is considered to be one of the most significant works of the 20th Century having sold over 50 million copies worldwide. García Márquez’s sons Rodrigo Garcia and Gonzalo García Barcha will serve as executive producers on the series, which will be filmed mainly in Colombia.

One Hundred Years of Solitude tells the story of the rise and fall, birth and death of the mythical town of Macondo through the history of the Buendia family. Inventive, amusing, magnetic, sad, and alive with unforgettable men and women – brimming with truth, compassion, and a lyrical magic that strikes the soul – this novel is a masterpiece in the art of fiction.
