Norwegian Netflix Original Series “Ragnarok” Begins Production of Second Season

Earlier this year we announced that Netflix had renewed their Norse mythology-themed series “Ragnarok” for a second season. The streaming giant has now confirmed that production of the second season has started in Norway.

The show premiered in January 2020 and is a modern coming-of-age drama rooted in Norse mythology. The series is set in the small, fictitious town of Edda, situated in the grand, breathtaking Norwegian nature. The story revolves around the inhabitants of Edda, who are perhaps not all who they claim to be. With them, we experience a drastically changing world: melting poles, warm winters, violent downpours. Some might say we’re headed for yet another Ragnarok. Unless someone intervenes in time…

The second season will pick up where the first season left: What do you do when you’re a 17 year-old high schooler who has just learned that you’re up against an ancient and extremely powerful enemy that is holding an entire town, perhaps even an entire country, in an iron grip?

While no dates are mentioned it is likely to launch in mid 2021. You can see the cast for Season 2 and the trailer for season 1 below.
