One Piece Live Action Series is Coming to Netflix

…and I’m sure it’s gonna be King of the Pirates! Netflix has announced they are developing a live-action series of the popular Manga series “One Piece”created by Eiichiro Oda. The 10-episode series will be overseen by Oda himself and written by Steven Maeda (“Lost”, “The X-Files”). Maeda will also be showrunner and executive producer alongside Matt Owens (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”, “Luke Cage”) who will act as writer/executive producer.

“One Piece” is a pirate adventure following Monkey D. Luffy as he searches the high seas for the legendary One Piece artefact and claim himself King of the Pirates. The show has been in development since 2017 but has now officially been announced as being a Netflix co-production.  It will join “Cowboy BeBop” as another live-action anime series.
