Netflix’s recent crime series, “Lupin”, has quickly become a massive hit in both the UK and USA – it’s currently at number 5 on the most popular titles on Netflix in the UK. And the good news is that it has already been confirmed that it will return for part two. The renewal is confirmed during the end credits after watching the season finale although no official dates are given. It does, however, say ‘coming soon’ implying it will be later this year – for context shows like ‘Emily in Paris’ say ‘It’s official: another Season is coming’ and don’t mention ‘soon’.
Part 1, made up of 5 episodes, launched on January 8th this year and follows Assane Diop (Omar Sy), a Parisian janitor who, as a child, was given a book about the French literary character Arsène Lupin who was a gentleman thief. Assane’s father died by suicide in prison after being falsely accused of theft by a wealthy family and so he decides to take his revenge. He does this by mastering the arts of disguise and sleight of hand in order to carry out huge heists.
