Romantic Musical Series “Soundtrack” Cancelled at Netflix After One Season

Romantic musical series “Soundtrack” has had a rough life already – the series, originally titled “Mixtape”, was first rejected by Fox in 2018 before being picked up by Netflix. But, now, the series has been cancelled at Netflix just 6 weeks after it’s premier in December 2019. The series came from “Gossip Girl” and “Smash” executive producer Joshua Safran and focused on a disparate group of interconnected people in contemporary Los Angeles through the lens of the music that defines who they are. The series stars Callie Hernandez (“La La Land”), Madeleine Stowe (“Revenge”), Jenna Dewan (“Step Up”) and Campbell Scott (“House of Cards”).

It is unknown whether the series will be shopped to other networks for a potential second season.
