At the 1968 Democratic National Convention peaceful anti-Vietnam War protest turned into a violent clash with police and the National Guard. Seven people ended up on trial, charged by the federal government with conspiracy, inciting to riot, and other charges related to the anti-Vietnam War and counter-cultural protests that took place. The trial was watched all over the world and has since become one of the most notorious trials in American history.
