“Snowpiercer” Renewed for Third Season by TNT Ahead of Season 2 Premiere

The futuristic action thriller “Snowpiercer” has been renewed for a third season just a week before its season 2 premiere. The series airs on TNT in the USA with the rest of the world getting it the day after on Netflix – as such Netflix subscribers can catch up with Layton and co in season 2 from January 26th. Sean Bean will join the show as the elusive Mr Wilford – who now has a brand new train of his own… The series is based on the 2013 movie of the same name by “Okja”-creator Bong Joon-Ho and airs on TNT in the USA with the rest of the world will get weekly episodes on Netflix. New episodes will be added weekly the day after airing on TNT in America.

In Season 2, an entirely new power struggle emerges, causing a dangerous rift as people are divided between their loyalty to Layton and to Mr. Wilford, who has a new train, new technology and a game plan that keeps everyone guessing. While Layton battles Wilford for the soul of Snowpiercer, Melanie leads the charge on a shocking new discovery that could change the fate of humanity.

Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly (“Alita: Battle Angel”, “A Beautiful Mind”) and Tony Award winner Daveed Diggs (“Black-ish”, “Velvet Buzzsaw”) star in the series which is set seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland. The show centers on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a gigantic, perpetually-moving train that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival are questioned in this riveting television adaptation.
