Spanish Crime Series “Money Heist” Renewed for Fifth and Final Season at Netflix

All good things must come to an end and Netflix has announced that their Spanish crime series “Money Heist” (“La Casa de Papel”) will end after its 5th series. Part 4 of the show was released in April 2020 and was made up of 8 episodes. There are no details yet about the length of part 5 or when it will likely be released.

In season 1 (parts 1 and 2) the story follows a group of robbers who attack the Royal Mint of Spain in order to print and escape with €2.4bn. The heist is led by ‘The Professor’ – an unknown leader running things from the outside. Season 2 (parts 3 and 4) is set a few years after the initial heist and sees the gang get back together along with some new members.

Part 4 begins in chaos: the professor thinks that Lisbon has been executed, Rio and Tokyo have blown up an army tank and Nairobi is struggling between life and death. The gang is going through one of its toughest moments and the rise of an enemy among its ranks will put the heist in serious danger.
