Netflix has announced the release date for a new comedy series based on the Spanish graphic novel “El Vecino” (“The Neighbor”) as December 31st. The series tells the story of Javier (Quim Gutiérrez), who’s life is not going too well. He can barely make ends meet with a temporary job, his t-shirt business with discouraging quotes doesn’t quite take off and his relationship with Lola (Clara Lago) has been having problems for the last couple of months. The last thing he needed is for an alien to land on him and transfer his powers before dying. Now Javier has become a superhero, but he’s not doing any better. Other cast includes Catalina Sopelana and Adrián Pino and filming has just begun in Madrid, Spain.
Jose Ramon lives an ordinary life studying all day but everything changes when he discovers that his neighbor Javier, a handsome journalist, is in fact the famous superhero Titan. But having superpowers doesn’t make Javier a good person: Javier/Titan is a mess as he refuses to grow up and take responsibility for his actions. Specially Javier struggles in the relationship with his girlfriend Lola, a brilliant journalist who suspects Javier is in fact Titan. Together the two neighbors and now friends navigate what means to be an adult while fighting supervillains, although at the end the only people they should save are themselves.
