“Star Trek: Discovery” is set to return in early 2019 and Netflix have just released the latest trailer for the show. The show airs in North America and Canada (on CBS and CTV respectively) and then episodes get added on a weekly basis as a Netflix Original throughout the rest of the world.
Showrunners Gretchen J Berg and Aaron Harberts have previously explained that season 2 would be a “more exploratory phase and a more diplomatic phase” as well as gradually becoming “a bit more of a Trekian chapter.” They also confirmed that the series is part of the same Prime Timeline and that season 2 will tie some of that up:
The idea was to always be in the Prime Timeline. Obviously, there are questions and concerns and things that are different. Our technology is a little different. We have a ship that runs very differently. We are our own show in a lot of ways. Season two is really exciting for us. This is our opportunity to really show how Discovery fits into this Prime Timeline. We are firmly committed to that.
It is also likely that we will see a uniform change during the 13-episode season.

Looks good. After what I thought was a shaky start I really came to love this series. Now just crossing my fingers for the rumoured Jean Luc series…
